In September 2014, BelunAi??continued monitoring for violent incidents and changes to the security situationAi??across Timor-Leste. Incident monitoring recorded 103 incidents, which is the highest number of incidents recorded in two and a half years. The spike in incidents can be partially attributed to a marked increase in farming-related land disputes, which likely occurred due to farmers returning to their fields in September to prepare for the rainy season.
