In April, Belun’s Early Warning, Early Response (EWER) conflict monitoring system continued monitoring for violent incidents and changes to the security situation across Timor-Leste. EWER monitoring recorded 109 violent incidents, including eleven perpetrated by members of banned Martial Arts Groups, and continued rock-throwing andAi??Rama Ambon (slingshot arrow)Ai??attacks by unknown perpetrators in Dili. Land surveying exercises conducted by the Ministry of Justice’s Sistema NasionA?l Cadastral led to eight incidents in Baucau, Manatuto and Vikeke municipalities. Three incidents were also recorded at or around political party consolidation events in Aileu, Lautein and Vikeke municipalities.
