Conflict Resolution

Conflict Prevention is one of the 3 pillars identified in Belun’s strategic plan. Belen has the following conflict prevention programs:

• • Early Warning and Early Response (Ewer) Program
  • Support Community Policing Program (SCPP)
  • Access to Justice Clinic Program

In order to prevent and reduce conflict Belun conducts training and facilitation that assist communities to;

• • Identify issues that are causing conflict as well as issues that may potentially cause conflict. They also work on strategies for the community to resolve conflicts
  • Facilitate the use of Tara bandu (Traditional law)
  • Encourage the referral of criminal matters to relevant institutions for immediate action
